How does touchscreen technology work?
Before knowing about this new method, it is important to understand how touchscreen technology works. Talking about touchscreen devices, they have transparent glass on top of a thin layer of conductive material. The conductive layer creates an electric field over the entire screen. When we touch the screen with the help of our finger or stylus, this electric field is disturbed and a unique electric signal is created. The device converts this signal into digital response.
What’s the problem with nails?

Two researchers from Centenary College of Louisiana, America have found a solution to this problem. He has prepared such an additive which can be mixed in nail polish. Ethanolamine and taurine have been mixed in this additive. Both of these can interact with the touch screen by disturbing the electric field above the screen. That means this additive can be mixed with nail polish and applied on the nails. After this, the long nails will act as a stylus and the phone can be operated easily. The researcher says that a lot of work still remains to be done on it, but it can be made available soon.
