The Indian women’s team achieved its first win after three consecutive defeats in the 5-match T20 series being played in South Africa. Deepti Sharma changed the course of the match by taking five wickets for the team that had lost the series. In response to 185 runs, the host team could score only 171 runs for 9 wickets.

New Delhi. The Indian women’s team got its first win after three consecutive defeats in the 5-match T20 series being played in South Africa. Experienced Deepti Sharma gave a brilliant all-round performance and took the first five wickets of her T20 career. On the basis of this brilliant bowling, India registered a 14-run victory over South Africa in the fourth Women’s T20 match played in Johannesburg on Saturday, 25 April. The host had already taken an unassailable 3-0 lead in this series. By winning the fourth match, India has made the series 3-1.
In this match too, India seemed to be moving towards victory by restricting them to 185 runs. Deepti (5/19) put a break on South Africa’s run chase by taking important wickets in the middle overs. The host team could score only 171 runs for 9 wickets. For South Africa, Sune Luus (40) and Tajmin Britts (30) presented a challenge by adding 54 runs for the second wicket. But as soon as Deepti bowled Luus, India tightened its grip on the match.
