Ruturaj Gaikwad Statement: CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is angry after the third consecutive defeat. He took the responsibility of the defeat against RCB on himself. Gaikwad said that if he had scored runs in the top order, the result of the match could have been different. Taking responsibility for the defeat, the captain admitted that Virat Kohli’s dropped catch and Tim David’s aggressive batting proved to be the turning point, which led to the victory for the defending champions.

New Delhi. Ruturaj Gaikwad is disappointed with the third consecutive defeat of Chennai Super Kings. Royal Challengers Bangalore forced them to suffer their third consecutive defeat. CSK’s top order failed miserably against RCB. Gaikwad got angry due to this defeat. Taking responsibility for the defeat, he said that if I had scored runs, the result of the match could have been different. But I could not do so. RCB defeated CSK by 43 runs due to the brilliant performance of the bowlers after the half-centuries of Tim David (70 not out), Devdutt Padikkal (50 runs).

After the defeat, Ruturaj Gaikwad said, ‘To be honest, I was also a little surprised by the performance. Sarfaraz Khan, Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton showed great spirit. I think if I had scored runs in the top order, we could have achieved the target. Therefore, I take responsibility for today’s defeat. Virat Kohli’s dropped catch in fielding and Tim David’s aggressive batting changed the course of the match. We were in the match till the 14th over, but after that we lost momentum due to mistakes.

Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and invited RCB to bat. Apart from David and Padikkal, RCB scored a huge score of 250 runs for three wickets with the help of captain Rajat Patidar’s unbeaten 48 runs and Phil Salt’s 46 runs. Padikkal (29 balls, five fours, two sixes) and David (25 balls, three fours, eight sixes) displayed explosive hitting and thrashed CSK’s helpless bowlers. Captain Patidar had one four and six sixes in his 19-ball innings. Facing 30 balls, Salt hit three fours and two sixes.

In reply, CSK team could not recover from the collapse of the top order and despite Sarfaraz Khan’s 50 runs, it was reduced to 207 runs in 19.4 overs. For that, apart from Sarfaraz, Prashant Veer scored 43 runs and Jamie Overton scored 37 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most successful bowler for RCB, taking three wickets for 41 runs in four overs. Jacob Duffy, Krunal Pandya and Abhinandan Singh took two wickets each. Suyyash Sharma got one wicket.
