NoVoice Malware: If you use Android phone then you need to be careful while downloading apps from Google Play Store. Even though Google advises against sideloading due to the potential risks, its own Play Store is also not completely safe. Recently, a new Android malware named NoVoice has been found in Google Play Store, due to which questions have been raised on the security of Google. NoVoice Malware has been found in about 50 apps listed on the Play Store. Let us know how dangerous this malware is and how many users are at risk from it.
Millions of users at risk from NoVoice Malware
According to media reports, the apps in which NoVoice Malware has been found have been downloaded more than 23 lakh times. This means that currently about 23 lakh devices are at risk from this malware. McAfee researchers traced the operation of this malware and found that it was hidden in apps like games, image galleries and system cleaners. These apps are popular and more downloaded. This malware was hidden in them and as soon as someone installed them, it would get installed in that device along with the app.
How dangerous is this malware?
The dangerousness of NoVoice Malware can be gauged from the fact that it tries to get root access of the device. It does this by taking advantage of Android's old flaws. This malware is so smart that it tries to collect as much information as possible as soon as it gets a chance. Once installed in the device, it can also steal information from apps and even install or delete apps from the user's device without his knowledge.
Difficult to delete
Once installed, NoVoice Malware is very difficult to delete. It also installs recovery scripts on the system. This means that even if the user factory resets his device, it does not leave him. However, the good thing is that it is ineffective against new Android devices. It can only take advantage of Android's old flaws. Along with this, Google has also blocked these apps, due to which they can no longer be downloaded.
