PSL 2026 new rule: As soon as the Pakistan Super League 2026 starts, a new rule of the tournament has become a topic of discussion. In the 11th season of PSL, the captain has been allowed to carry two playing eleven sheets at the time of toss. The reason behind implementing this rule is dew, so that no team gets unnecessary advantage from it.

Rule of 2 playing eleven has been imposed in Pakistan Super League 2026
New Delhi: Pakistan Super League 2026 has started. The first match of the tournament was played between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen. Before this match, an interesting rule was introduced in PSL, so that no team gets the benefit of dew. Now the captain of each team can go to the toss with two team sheets and after the toss can choose one on which the coin falls in his favor.
In T20 leagues around the world, team sheets are changed before the toss, resulting in the playing 11 of both teams, unless there are any injuries. Two team sheets are allowed in the PSL, allowing teams to better prepare for the dew conditions that usually affect the second innings. This rule is written under 'Nomination and Replacement of Players' of PSL.
The captain will have two different lineups of 11 players.
According to this new rule, before the toss, every captain can give the lineup of two different 11 players in writing to the PSL match referee. Each lineup can have 11 players and a maximum of 4 substitute fielders. After the toss, each captain will choose one of two lineups and sign the team sheet. Once the final lineup has been selected, no players can be changed from it without the approval of the opposing captain before the start of the match.
This rule came into effect on Thursday when Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen captains Shaheen Shah Afridi and Marnus Labuschagne brought two team sheets for the toss. Dew has been a big problem for captains in the sub-continent. Moisture in the outfield makes it difficult for spinners to catch the ball and slow balls from fast bowlers also become less effective, while the outfield becomes fast, making batting easier.
