Phone Screen Freezing Problem: Does the phone screen freeze again and again? Check these things before going to service center

There can be many reasons behind the phone screen freezing. This problem is more common in old smartphones, but even in new phones, the screen can suddenly stop working due to software bugs, use of heavy apps, storage overflow, excessive cache data or overheating. In such a situation, there is no need to panic. Sometimes the problem is only software related.

If the screen stops working completely, then first force restart the phone. In Android, press and hold the power button and volume down button together for 10 to 15 seconds. On the iPhone, first press Volume Up, then Volume Down and then press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears. This refreshes the memory of the phone and sometimes the screen starts working normally again.

Sometimes the phone freezes due to the battery being too low. In such a situation, connect the phone to the charger and let it charge for a few minutes. After this try force restart again.

If the problem started after installing a new app, then turn on the phone in Safe Mode. Only system apps run in this mode. If the phone runs fine in Safe Mode, then remove recently installed apps one by one.

Gaming, continuous charging or prolonged use can cause the phone to heat up. The screen also freezes due to overheating. In such a situation, switch off the phone and keep it in a cool and dry place for some time, then switch it on again.

Even when the phone’s storage is almost full, the device may become slow or freeze. In such a situation, delete unused apps, photos and videos, clear the app cache and try to keep at least 10 percent storage free. Also update the phone’s operating system and all apps to the latest version.

If the problem is not fixed even after trying all the methods, a factory reset can be done. Before this, make sure to backup all your important data. After reset, all the data of the phone will be deleted. To perform a factory reset, go to Settings, then open System, then tap Reset and select Factory Reset. After factory reset, the phone comes back to new condition and most of the software related problems are fixed.
