That is why at present this feature has been removed from the platform. However, the rest of Muse Image’s AI image generation system will remain available as before.

The Government of India has also taken a serious stance on this matter. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology i.e. MeitY said that the government will investigate this feature. He said that if complaints have been received then the entire matter will be looked into under the laws of India.

Protests took place around the world
It was not only the common people who opposed this feature. America’s artists’ union SAG-AFTRA advised its members to be careful. Big talent agency CAA said that any person’s face, name, voice or photograph should not be used in AI models without his express permission. Many privacy related organizations also criticized Meta, saying that AI companies are using people’s personal photos only as data.

Meta is also preparing to bring it to Facebook, Messenger and its advertising platform in the coming time.
