Lucknow. Indian fast bowler Prasidh Krishna says that clever change-up with hard lengths and bouncers has been very effective for him in this IPL. Prasidh took four wickets for 28 runs against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday and changed the course of the match. He took one wicket with a hard length ball, one wicket with a back of length ball and two wickets with an off-cutter bouncer. He said, ‘This change-up is a mixture of hard length, bouncer and off-cutter. Most of the batsmen were playing according to bouncers, so I made a change and it worked for us.
The ball on which Prasidh dismissed Mukul Chaudhary is being considered as one of the best balls of the match. He bowled the ball with an off-break grip and using his wrist, he tossed the short ball in a different manner, due to which the batsman was caught out. This tall bowler from Karnataka said that the use of short ball depends on the condition of the pitch.
Prasidh was chosen player of the match.
He said, ‘The bowler has many options like yorker, length and bouncer. We use them according to the circumstances and stick to the ball which gives us advantage. Prasidh admitted that the pitch of Ekana Stadium in Lucknow was challenging and the conditions were difficult for both the batsmen and bowlers. He said, ‘If the line is not correct then the ball does not come well on the bat. We made some mistakes in the powerplay, but later improved.
Praising the team’s head coach Ashish Nehra, Prasidh said, ‘We get to learn a lot from an experienced player like Nehra. They give us suggestions at different times, be it a coffee break or a conversation over dinner. His experience is very useful for us.
