Australia defeated Bangladesh in the first T20
Chittagong (Bangladesh): Spinners Adam Zampa and Joel Davis took three wickets each, as Australia defeated Bangladesh by four wickets in the first match of the three-match T20 series on Wednesday. Now the second T-20 match will be played on Friday. Leg-spinner Nikhil Chaudhary also took a wicket, becoming the first Indian-born male cricketer to represent Australia in 60 years.
Thanks to this performance of the spinners, Australia all out Bangladesh for 131 runs in 19 overs. Cooper Connolly, who saved Australia from a clean sweep against Bangladesh by scoring 149 runs in the last ODI by one wicket, scored 47 runs with the help of four fours and three sixes and took his team to the score of 133 runs for six wickets in 18.2 overs.
Connolly maintained his composure after the early dismissals of Mitchell Marsh, who returned after missing the ODI series due to an ankle injury, and fellow opener Josh Inglis.
Left arm fast bowler Abdul Ghaffar took his first wicket by getting Connolly caught out. Connolly had made a 40-run partnership with Tim David (20) for the third wicket. Ghaffar took two wickets for 32 runs.
Tauheed Hriday captained Bangladesh after Liton Das was out due to calf injury during the third ODI and won the toss and decided to bat first, but none of the Bangladesh batsmen could stand against Australia’s disciplined spin attack.
Bangladesh’s score in the fifth over was 39 runs for one wicket, but after this, Zampa and Davis faltered their innings and the home team lost seven wickets within 60 runs.
