Pakistan had a target of 211 runs in the last innings on the fourth day of the game, but in response the entire team was limited to a score of only 120 runs. In this way, West Indies has taken a 1-0 lead in the series with the victory in the first test. The hero of this victory of West Indies was Justin Greaves, who took 7 wickets in both the innings, due to which he was chosen as ‘Player of the Match’.
Pakistan’s condition deteriorated while chasing the target
The condition of the Pakistani team, which came to chase the target of only 211 runs against West Indies, was bad. Captain Babar Azam was the only batsman for the team who scored the maximum 58 runs in the fourth innings. Apart from Babar, Mohammad Rizwan scored 11 runs and Mohammad Abbas scored 23 runs. Apart from these three, no other batsman could cross the double figures.
At the same time, Jaden Seales opened his paws for West Indies in bowling. Jaden showed a strong performance and took 5 wickets for 20 runs in 14.2 overs. Apart from this, Kemar Roach and Justin Greaves took 2 wickets each, while Shamar Joseph took 1 wicket. In this way, with tight bowling, West Indies achieved a strong victory over Pakistan.
Justin Greaves ruined Pakistan’s first innings
West Indies’ bowling was very strong in the first test match against Pakistan. This is the reason why despite a good start, Pakistan collapsed in its first innings. At one time in its first innings, Pakistan had scored 199 runs for just 3 wickets, but after that the storm of Justin Greaves came and he pushed Pakistan on the back foot by taking 5 wickets in 5 consecutive maiden overs. In this way, Pakistan’s first innings was reduced to 282 runs in 80.1 overs.
Shai Hope and Kavem did wonders for West Indies in batting.
In the match against Pakistan, West Indies team batted first and scored 311 runs. Shai Hope scored the highest innings of 92 runs in the first innings for West Indies. Apart from this, Kavem Hodge also contributed 82 runs, due to which the team could score a challenging score.
