Selection of 33 year old Saransh Jain in the Indian Test team.

New Delhi. Summary of reaching the Indian cricket team: Jain’s journey did not start from any cricket academy, but from the terrace of his house in Indore. Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Saransh has been included in the Indian Test team for the first time for the Test series to be played in Sri Lanka next month. There is an atmosphere of celebration in his family after his selection. Saransh’s father Subodh Jain has also played Ranji Trophy for Madhya Pradesh. When Saransh was young, Subodh Jain used to make him practice for hours on the terrace of the house.

The journey started from the roof
Saransh’s mother Sangeeta Jain told PTI, ‘Whenever my husband got time, he used to put a net on the terrace and make Saransh practice. Many times Saransh’s hand got hurt while playing, but he never backed down. After tying the bandage he would start practicing again. He told that in his childhood, Saransh’s cricket practice often caused trouble to the neighbours.

Mother became emotional on son’s selection
An emotional mother said on her son’s achievement, ‘Many a times, due to Saransh’s practice on the terrace, the glass of the neighbours’ windows would break. Then Saransh’s father used to say that he will get a new mirror installed, but one day these neighbors will be proud of this child. One specialty of Saransh’s game is his special combination of bowling and batting. He bowls off-spin with his right hand and bats with his left hand.

When father said – you will become a lefty batsman
Saransh’s elder brother Saurabh Jain told that in childhood, Saransh used to bat with his right hand, but his father recognized his talent and inspired him to bat with his left hand. Saurabh said, ‘I bat with the right hand, so Saransh also used to play with the right hand after seeing me, but one day father saw that he was playing better with the left hand and his shots were coming out well. Then he said – Son, you will become a lefty batsman.

Family awaits debut
Former Ranji player Subodh Jain said that these days it is often seen that players are selected in the Indian team after excellent performance in the IPL, but his son has made a place in Team India mainly by proving his mettle in first-class cricket. He said, ‘Saaransh plays like a warrior on the field. Whatever he decides to do, he dies only after completing it. Saransh’s family is now waiting for the moment when he will enter the field wearing the white jersey of the Indian team.
