New Delhi. The T20 series being played between India and England is currently a topic of discussion all over the world. Even though the Indian team is struggling in search of its first win on this tour, the entire attention of fans and cricket pundits is focused on only one name, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. This young player, who made his debut in international cricket at the age of just 15, has surprised everyone. Suryavanshi has been in the headlines ever since he joined the team in place of Sanju Samson in Manchester last week. However, this young player, who created havoc with his bat in IPL 2026, has so far failed to play the big innings on the pitches of England, which every cricket lover is expecting.
The third T20 match of the series was played in Nottingham, which was no less than a nightmare for the Indian team. In terms of runs, India had to face its biggest defeat in T20 International history. England defeated India in this match by a huge margin of 125 runs. Even amidst this crushing defeat, Vaibhav Suryavanshi created a sensation with his short innings. Facing just 5 balls, he scored 13 runs at an explosive strike rate of 260. Even though this inning was not enough to help the team win, this 15 year old boy showed that he has amazing courage to play fearlessly.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi will have to convert his start into a big innings: Moeen Ali
The Indian team is now preparing to take the field with the intention of making a comeback in the series. Meanwhile, former England all-rounder Moeen Ali has expressed his opinion about this young sensation. While talking on the famous podcast ‘Beer Before Wicket’, Moeen Ali said that Suryavanshi will have to convert these small and aggressive starts into big scores to cement his place in the team.
Moeen Ali praised Suryavanshi fiercely
Moeen Ali said, ‘The style and intensity with which Vaibhav Suryavanshi has batted in his first two matches has impressed me a lot. Despite getting out early in the initial matches, this young player has shown a glimpse of his talent. The only problem with him will be if he is not able to score runs in the next two, three or five innings. Then the pressure on them will increase. I still believe he is a great player. The way he is adopting an aggressive stance on the field is not a weakness in my view. I have seen him hitting sixes even on those balls on which people get out. So I am not at all worried about them. A matter of concern is the form of the middle and lower order batsmen of the Indian team.
Adil Rashid revealed England’s strategy
England’s star spinner Adil Rasheed, who was a part of this podcast, also revealed his team’s strategy regarding Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Rashid admitted that Suryavanshi has not spent much time in international cricket yet, but due to IPL, bowlers around the world have become aware of his strengths and weaknesses. Adil Rashid said, ‘Bowlers from all over the world have seen him playing in the IPL. We have also analyzed his batting to see where he struggles. As a bowling unit, we are trying to implement the same specific plan against them on the field.
Talking about the increasing pressure on Suryavanshi and the challenges of his future, Rashid further said, ‘At the age of just 15, he is under immense pressure from the expectations of the country. We are not taking them lightly and we have a solid strategy against them. At present, the Indian team management has given him license to play freely. But the real test will be when he plays on different conditions and pitches. When he goes through a bad phase in his career, it will be interesting to see how he changes his batting and finds a way to bounce back.
