Vegetarian Diet Cancer Risk: A question often arises regarding cancer whether adopting a vegetarian diet can cure the disease quickly or its risk is reduced. A big study that came out recently has brought this debate into discussion again. Research has found that vegetarian diets can help reduce the risks of some types of cancer. But no direct claim has been made regarding quick treatment or complete recovery. In such a situation, let us now tell you whether cancer is cured quickly in vegetarian people.
What does the new study say?
In this big study conducted by researchers of the University of Oxford, data of about 18 lakh people was analyzed. In this, people following different diets like meat eaters, fish eaters, poultry eaters, vegetarians and vegans were compared. The study, published in the British Journal of Cancer, found that vegetarian people had a lower risk of some cancers.
The risk of which cancers was found to be reduced?
According to the study, among vegetarian people, the risk of pancreatic cancer is about 21 percent less, the risk of breast cancer is 9 percent less, the risk of prostate cancer is 12 percent less, the risk of kidney cancer is 28 percent less and the risk of multiple myeloma is found to be 31 percent less. However, an important thing also came to light that almost double the risk of a type of cancer of the esophagus was seen in vegetarian people.
Does vegetarian diet cure cancer quickly?
The doctor has to clarify that it has not been proved anywhere in the study that cancer gets cured quickly in vegetarian people. This research is only about the risk of cancer and not about the speed of recovery. According to experts, the treatment of cancer depends on many factors like the stage of the disease and timely treatment. It would not be right to say only on the basis of diet that a person will get cured quickly.

How can work be a threat?
According to researchers, plant-based diet contains fiber, antioxidants and less saturated fat, which can help in reducing inflammation in the body and strengthening the immune system. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains and pulses improve the digestive system and may play a role in reducing the risk of some cancers. Vegetarians also generally have a lower body mass index, which is associated with reduced risk of many types of cancer. Experts say that this study definitely gives important indications, but it is too early to draw any final conclusions from it. According to him, the relationship between diet and cancer is complex and research is needed to understand it completely. Doctors also say that merely being vegetarian is not enough, it is more important to have a balanced diet. If there is more carbohydrate or fried food in the diet then it can increase the risk of obesity and other diseases, which also increases the risk of cancer.
