Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s century went in vain, Abhishek-Ishaan’s storm did all the work for Rajasthan

New Delhi.Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s stormy century was overshadowed by the half-century innings of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, due to which Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets at their home. This 36th match of IPL 2026 was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, in which on the strength of Vaibhav, Rajasthan put a huge total of 228 runs on the board after losing 6 wickets. While chasing the target, Abhishek and Ishaan made the path of victory easy for Hyderabad by scoring stormy half-centuries. Hyderabad achieved the target with three balls remaining. Hyderabad’s regular captain Pat Cummins came to play for the first time in the season. Hyderabad has defeated Rajasthan for the second time in the tournament. Earlier, Hyderabad had won even while playing at home. This is Hyderabad’s 5th win in the season, due to which the team has reached third place in the points table, while Rajasthan team has slipped to fourth place. This is Rajasthan’s third defeat in eight matches.

Ishaan-Kishan’s bat
Chasing the target, Hyderabad quickly got its first blow in the form of Travis Head, who was out after making just 6. However, after this, Abhishek Sharma along with Ishan Kishan batted stormily and made a big partnership of 132 runs for the second wicket, which decided the direction of the match. Ishaan was out after scoring 74 runs in 31 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes. Abhishek scored 57 runs in 29 balls. His innings included 11 fours and one six. When Abhishek was out, Hyderabad’s score was 166/3 in 12.1 overs.

Nitish-Klassen crossed the threshold of victory
The dismissal of Abhishek-Ishan definitely slowed down the pace of Hyderabad’s runs, but Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy took the team past the threshold of victory. Klaasen was out after scoring 29 runs, while Reddy scored 36 runs in 18 balls at a strike rate of 200. During this, two fours and three sixes also came from his bat. Salil Arora returned unbeaten after scoring 8 runs and Aniket Verma returned unbeaten after scoring one run. After the cheap dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal (10 runs), Dhruv Jurel and Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted brilliantly and added 112 runs in 62 balls for the second wicket. Jurel played a brilliant inning of 51 runs in 35 balls. At the same time, Vaibhav played in a explosive style and completed the second century of his IPL career. Vaibhav scored 103 runs in 37 balls. His innings included 5 fours and 12 sixes.

Riyan Parag could score only 7 runs, while Donovan Ferreira scored 33 runs in 16 balls. Shimron Hetmyer became the victim of Prafulla Hinge after scoring 11 runs in 10 balls. Jadeja remained unbeaten on 4 runs and Archer on 2 runs. In bowling, Ishan Malinga took maximum 2 wickets for SRH, while Prafulla, Cummins and Nitish took one wicket each.
