Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad made an unwanted record in the match against Hyderabad, which was not in the name of any captain in the IPL before.

Apart from these, many other captains like Steve Smith, MS Dhoni (twice), Rohit Sharma, Axar Patel and Aiden Markram have also played such innings without fours and sixes. However, Gaikwad is the first captain in history, who made this unwanted record while opening the innings.
Lowest strike rate in powerplay
Ruturaj Gaikwad has the lowest strike rate in the powerplay while facing at least 100 balls in IPL 2026. He has scored 182 runs at a strike rate of 124.6. He is followed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi (129 runs at a strike rate of 126.5), Ajinkya Rahane (123 runs at a strike rate of 127) and Sai Sudarshan (270 runs at a strike rate of 144.4).
