PSL Ball Tampering Fakhar Zaman: Fakhar Zaman banned for two matches, action taken after ball tampering scandal in Pakistan Super League

Lahore: Fakhar Zaman has been banned for two PSL matches. Pakistan Cricket Board took this action against veteran batsman Khabbu after indiscipline. Zaman is accused of ball tampering. He was found to have violated Article 41.3 of the PSL. This article prohibits any action that changes the position of the ball.

Referee considered Fakhar Zaman guilty
Fakhar, 35, was found guilty of a level three offense under Section 2.14 of the PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Support Staff by match referee Roshan Mahanama. Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, team director Sameen Rana and team manager Farooq Anwar were also present during the hearing.

On March 29, during the Pakistan Super League match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, Fakhar Zaman, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza were accused of ball tampering. This allegation happened before the last over of Karachi Kings' innings when they needed 14 runs to win.

Lahore Qalandars lost due to ball tampering
Fakhar was seen talking to Haris Rauf and Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, after which umpire Faisal Afridi asked for the ball and after examining it, found that it had been tampered with. The umpire fined Lahore Qalandars five runs for ball tampering, due to which Karachi needed only nine runs in the last over, which they scored.
