Patna: 18-year-old Vaidehi Yadav, who was the vice-captain of Bihar Senior Women's Cricket Team, is today fulfilling her father's unfulfilled dream. When Vaidehi dreamed of playing cricket at the age of just 9, her father put a condition. If she bowls the ball by swinging her hands correctly in 7 days, she will be admitted to the cricket academy, but the little player surprised everyone by completing this challenge in just 3 days. Now Vaidehi is attracting everyone's attention with her game by performing well in every tournament. At the same time, she is moving forward rapidly on the path of fulfilling her father's unfulfilled dream.
Let us tell you that till now Vaidehi Yadav has been the captain of Under 15, Under 19, Under 23 and also the vice-captain of the senior women's team. At present, she is performing brilliantly in the domestic matches of BCA.
I held the bat after seeing my father
While talking to Local 18, Vaidehi said, 'My father used to play cricket, but he did not get that much opportunity to fulfill his dream. At that time, I played other sports at the local level, but never held a bat or a ball. Father also never thought that either of his daughters would play cricket, because at that time there was no special relation between girls and cricket, but when I saw my father batting, I started getting curious about cricket.
Vaidehi Yadav further said that one day I expressed my desire to play cricket to my father. At first they thought I was joking. At that time I was only 9 years old, but when I insisted, he said that if you swing your hand and bowl the ball correctly within 7 days, then I will get you to join the Cricket Academy. I completed this challenge in just 3 days. After this, father made me join the cricket academy and from then onwards I started playing cricket.
Whatever I am is because of my father.
Vaidehi further said that today my father has a hand behind my every victory. He has supported me a lot in this journey and even today he stands with me like a shadow. If he had not been there, I probably would not have been playing cricket. My father is like my best friend. That's why whenever I win, I call him first.
She further said that it is because of her that I have been living in Bengaluru for the last two years for training and am also continuing my studies through open schooling. I get full support not only from my father but also from my mother. Let us tell you that Vaidehi's younger sister is also associated with sports and does shooting. Both the sisters are getting full support from the entire family.

Vaidehi Yadav considers Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur as her idol and likes her aggressive style towards cricket. Regarding this, he told that Harmanpreet Kaur had played a brilliant inning of 171 runs in the semi-final match of 2017 Women's World Cup between India and Australia. Seeing his batting, I also got inspired to become like him. After this I became more serious about cricket. Now I am trying my best to get selected in the Women's Premier League and become a part of Team India. For this I am working hard and my entire focus remains on my practice.
