Rajasthan Royals’ explosive opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an important role in taking the team to Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2026. This 15 year old youth, who was out after scoring 97 runs in 29 balls, had a chance to score the fastest century in IPL history but he missed it. He said after the match that he was not aware of this.

New Delhi. In the Indian Premier League, Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted brilliantly against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator but missed breaking a big record. He had a chance to score the fastest century in the history of the tournament. Chris Gayle had accomplished this feat in 30 balls. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was out after scoring 97 runs on 29 balls. After the match was over, he told that he did not know about this record while batting.
We have won, so now we have to move forward with positive thinking. I think a little while batting, not much. I try to keep things simple. Just think about the bowlers and what strategy I can make against them.
I play with positive thinking and put pressure on the bowlers. My aim is to put pressure on the bowler. My focus was on contributing to the team. Now my focus is on winning the trophy. If I have any weakness, I work on it and try to improve that aspect of my game.
Didn’t know about the record
Vaibhav Suryavanshi remained one step away from breaking the record of the fastest century in IPL history. He said, I did not know about it. I came to know about this when I got out and left the field. My intention was only to take the ball across the boundary. Whenever I play, I will bat only for the team’s victory.
