Bangladesh Cricketers Salary: With the change of the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board, a period of change has started. In fact, two days ago the National Sports Council had dissolved the board headed by Aminul Islam Bulbul. Aminul has been dismissed from the post of president. BCB elections are to be held within the next 90 days and till then the functioning of the board will be handled by an 11-member committee led by Tamim Iqbal. As soon as Iqbal assumed the post of President, he increased the salaries of the players.
Fees only Rs 750
New president Tamim Iqbal was very surprised when he came to know that Bangladeshi women cricketers get only 1000 Bangladeshi Taka as fees for playing an ODI match. This amount is equivalent to approximately Rs 750 in Indian currency. After this, a decision has been taken to immediately increase the salaries of the players.
After the new salary structure, women cricketers will get 10,000 Taka (7547 Indian Rupees) for playing T20 matches, 15,000 Taka (11321 Indian Rupees) for playing ODI matches and 20,000 Taka (15095 Indian Rupees) for playing first-class matches.
Will the salary increase further?
Tamim Iqbal believes that this is not an ideal salary for women cricketers, but this increase can be considered as a start. He said that it was not possible to give a big increase all at once, but it is necessary for the players to get better salaries. Tamim’s statement is an indication that women cricketers may get higher salaries in future.
BCB is kind to male cricketers too
BCB headed by Tamim Iqbal has also increased the salaries of male cricketers. Players falling in Category A will get a salary of 65 thousand Bangladeshi Taka per month, cricketers falling in Category B will get 50 thousand Bangladeshi Taka per month and players in Category C will get a salary of 40 thousand Bangladeshi Taka per month. Now the match fee of players in first-class cricket will be one lakh Bangladeshi Taka, which was earlier 70 thousand Taka.
