IPL 2026 bidding war for Mukul Chaudhary: In the bidding war for Mukul Chaudhary, who made a splash with his batting against KKR in the Indian Premier League 2026, there were two other teams apart from Lucknow Supergiants, who wanted to buy him, but due to the difference of only Rs 20 lakh, he came to Lucknow.

Three teams bid for Mukul in the auction
New Delhi: For every season of the Indian Premier League, teams start scouting players months in advance. Especially the teams keep a close eye on the domestic cricketers and when the time of auction comes, they buy them as per their wish, but sometimes it happens that a bidding war starts between the teams in the auction for one player.
Something similar happened for Mukul Chaudhary of Lucknow Supergiants, who created a sensation against KKR in IPL 2026. Batting at number 7 in the 15th match of IPL 2026, Mukul Chaudhary led Lucknow to victory by 3 wickets in a thrilling match. Since then he has remained in the headlines. Mukul plays for Rajasthan in domestic cricket and for IPL 2026, he had kept himself in the base price of Rs 30 lakh.
Mumbai and Rajasthan also had their eyes on Mukul
Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians also had their eyes on Mukul for IPL 2026. Rajasthan had given tough competition to Lucknow in the bidding to buy Mukul, but with a margin of just Rs 20 lakh, it left out this destructive finisher. At the same time, Mumbai team had come with the lowest purse in the auction, so it could not last long in the bidding.
When Mukul’s name came on the auction table, the first bid was made by Rajasthan Royals. Along with Rajasthan, Mumbai also came into the field. Mumbai team had gone up to Rs 95 lakh for Mukul, but Rajasthan made a bid of Rs 1 crore. After this the Mumbai team retreated. From here again entered Lucknow. In the bidding war with Lucknow, Rajasthan reached Rs 2.40 crore, but Lucknow bought Mukul at the price of Rs 2.60 crore and Mukul has also proved Lucknow’s decision right.
