- Be careful when using WhatsApp on a public computer.
WhatsApp Tips: Nowadays WhatsApp is not just a chatting app but many of our important information like documents, photos and personal data are saved in it. In such a situation, if your WhatsApp is logged in on any other device then your privacy may be in danger. If you suspect that someone else is accessing your account, then you can check and control it with some easy steps.
How to find out whether WhatsApp is logged in somewhere else or not
First of all open WhatsApp in your phone. After this tap on the three dots given on the top right side. Here you will see the option of Linked Devices. By going to this section you can see on which devices your WhatsApp is active.
Along with every device, information about its activity is also available so that you can identify whether any unknown device is connected. If you see any suspicious device, tap on it and immediately select the Log Out option. This will stop access to that device immediately.
How to log out yourself from another device?
If you have ever used WhatsApp in a cyber café or on someone else’s computer, then it is very important to logout as soon as you are done. For this, click on the three dots given above on WhatsApp Web or Desktop and select Log Out. By doing this your account will remain secure and no one will be able to access your chat.
Pay special attention to these things
Whenever you use WhatsApp on someone else’s or public computer, avoid sharing too personal information. Do not download any unknown link, photo or file as it increases the risk of data theft. Always try to use your own internet and avoid scanning any suspicious QR codes.
Also, never enter OTP on a page that does not seem trustworthy. If you are using a third-party computer, use WhatsApp Web instead of the WhatsApp Desktop app and logout immediately when you are finished.
Your safety is in your hands
With a little care and correct settings, you can keep your WhatsApp account safe. It is a good habit to check Linked Devices from time to time so that you can immediately stop any unknown access.
