These days the whole world is focusing on clean and green energy. This is the reason why people’s inclination towards solar energy has increased in India for some time. Meanwhile, another method of generating electricity has also emerged, which not many people had thought about. Now electricity can be generated even from the bulls roaming on the road and this is not just a theoretical concept. A unique model of generating electricity from oxen has been prepared in a cow shed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It may sound strange, but here electricity is being generated with the help of oxen.
How is electricity made from oxen?
According to media reports, former DSP Shailendra Singh, who runs a cow shed in Sidhpura village of Lucknow, has prepared this model. This model is based on flywheel, gearbox and gravity and it converts the energy generated by the movement of oxen into electricity. A big wheel is installed in this model, which is connected to the alternator. It works like a treadmill. On this, two bulls are made to stand and fodder is placed in front of them and they keep walking while standing at one place while eating the fodder. The alternator converts the mechanical energy generated by their operation into electrical power.
Electricity generated from oxen is cheaper than normal electricity
The cost of electricity generated by running oxen is much lower than the electricity coming from the grid. The cost per unit of normal electricity is on an average Rs 7, whereas the cost of electricity generated by running of bulls is Rs 1-1.5 per unit. About 5 kilowatts of electricity can be generated from one bull and after hybridizing with solar energy system, about 10 kilowatts of electricity can be generated. According to Shailendra Singh, this system generates 80 units of electricity in 8 hours and the current needs of the cowshed are fulfilled by this. This model has also been patented.
This system can be useful for farmers also
This system can prove to be very useful for farmers. Many farmers keep bulls for work in their fields and now in this way their help can also be taken in power generation. The electricity generated in this way will run irrigation motors etc. easily, which will also save electricity.
