Many times people assume that the ink stain on their shirt, T-shirt or bag will never be removed. However, with the help of some common household items, these stubborn stains can be cleaned to a great extent. According to home experts, if the stain is new then it is easier to remove it, but old or dried stains can also be cleaned properly.

What to do to remove ink stains?

Rubbing alcohol is considered to be one of the most effective remedies for removing ink stains. It shows good effect especially on oil-based ink of ballpoint pen. For this, place a paper towel under the stained area and apply some rubbing alcohol with the help of a dropper. After a few minutes, clean the stain by gently pressing it with a clean paper towel. This process can be repeated until the ink stops coming out of the cloth. After this, wash the cloth with cold water and wash it normally.

If the stain is deep then ammonia can also be used. Ammonia helps break down the pigments in the ink, making the stain easier to remove with water. For this, first wash the stained area with cold water. After this, prepare a solution by mixing warm water, bleach-free detergent and a small amount of ammonia. Nail polish remover can also help remove fresh ink stains. Especially nail polish remover containing acetone works to loosen the ink. For this, apply some remover on a clean cloth or cotton ball and pat it lightly on the stained area. Be careful not to rub the stain, as this may spread the ink further. After this, wash the cloth with water and clean it normally.

These things should be kept in mind

Experts advise not to put clothes in the dryer until the ink stain is completely removed. Heat can cause stains to set permanently into the fabric.
