GTA 6: After a long time of rumors and waiting, Rockstar Games has finally revealed the release date of its biggest game Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). Now this game will launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Earlier there was a plan to bring it in the beginning of 2026 but now fans will have to wait a little longer.
Why was there a delay?
The company had already indicated that additional time was needed to complete the game. In November 2025, it was made clear that the delay was not due to any problem but to make the game better. The developers say that they want the game to come with the same level of quality that players have come to expect. Another interesting thing is that GTA 6 will be released on Thursday, November 19 whereas usually big games are launched on Tuesday. Whether this decision is strategic or not is not clear at the moment.
New location and powerful story
This time the game world is going to be bigger and more vibrant than before. The story will be based on a fictional place named Leonida which is actually inspired by Florida. Its main city will be Vice City, which will now be shown in a modern style, completely different from the old glimpse of the 80s.
The biggest change is the dual protagonist system. For the first time, players will experience the story simultaneously through a male and a female character. With this, a new twist will be seen in both gameplay and story.
Performance and platform details
From a technical point of view, according to reports, the game will run at 30fps on the base PS5 and Xbox Series X, especially in high-quality (fidelity) mode. What special features there will be for PlayStation 5 Pro has not been revealed yet. Whereas PC users may have to wait a little longer. At present there is no official date for it but according to discussions, its PC version may come by 2027.
What will be special before the launch?
A tremendous marketing campaign can be seen before the launch of GTA 6. Take-Two Interactive can make many big revelations related to the new trailer, gameplay video and story between May and August. During this, fans will get more in-depth information about the characters, map and features of the game.
