New Delhi: With the strong all-round performance of Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma, India has registered its second back to back win in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The team defeated Netherlands by 95 runs in its second match. Earlier, India had defeated Pakistan in its opening match. Apart from this half-century innings, Shefali also wreaked havoc in bowling. In bowling, Shefali took 3 wickets for just 20 runs in 3.2 overs. Before that he had played an innings of 55 runs in 38 balls. With this, Shefali made the record of becoming only the third player in the world to take fifty and three wickets in a T20 World Cup match. Before Shefali, this feat was done by Hayley Mathews of West Indies against Sri Lanka in the year 2018. Along with scoring 62 runs, Mathews also took 3 wickets in the match. After him, Sune Luus of South Africa scored 61 and took 3 wickets against Thailand in 2020.
