Many of these are such that we use them only once in a few months. There are many of these apps which silently steal your data. flashlight apps- Despite having an in-built torch, many people download extra apps for the torch. If you also have such apps in your phone, then delete them immediately. In fact, many such apps were found collecting data which they did not need. Many apps also ask for permission to access contacts, even though they do not need this function.
Health Apps- If there is any extra health app in your phone then delete it. Apps like sleep analysis and step counting may seem practical, but they also take unnecessary permissions for data access. Apart from this, they also require constant location tracking. These apps collect users’ data and sell it to insurance and pharma companies.
Navigation Apps- Google Maps or Apple Maps come preloaded in the phone for navigation. Apart from these apps, if there is any app for navigation in your phone, then remove it. Actually, all navigation apps store your location history and also prepare your movement profile, which is not safe from privacy point of view.
Shopping Apps- Apps like Amazon and SHEIN have been continuously accused of taking excessive permissions. If you pay attention, you might have noticed that after some time, ads related to the product you talk about buying start appearing on the screen. All the companies claim not to have access to the microphone, but these companies can guess your preferences from location data, search queries and purchase history.
