During the 39th match of IPL 2026 being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, a sudden dust storm disrupted the game for some time. Visibility on the field was reduced due to strong winds and flying dust, due to which the players had to face irritation in the eyes and difficulty in breathing. Keeping in mind the safety of the players, the umpires stopped the ongoing match between Delhi Capitals and RCB for some time.

New Delhi. A strange situation arose in the 39th match of IPL 2026 being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, when the game had to be stopped midway due to a sudden strong dust storm. Due to this sandstorm that arose amidst the heat of Delhi, the visibility on the field was greatly reduced, making it almost impossible for both the batsmen and fielders to see the ball. Although the match has started again.
This dust storm not only spoiled the rhythm of the game, but the players present on the field also had to face a lot of trouble. Due to the dust blowing along with the strong winds, the eyes of the players started getting irritated, due to which the players of RCB and Delhi Capitals were seen covering their faces with towels and jerseys. A thick layer of dust could be clearly seen between the flood lights of the stadium, due to which even the sports fans had to be disappointed for some time.

After winning the toss, RCB decided to bowl first and within the powerplay, half of the Delhi team had lost six wickets for just 13 runs within the powerplay. In this match, 36-year-old Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Sahil Parakh (0), Tristan Stubbs (5) and captain Akshar Patel (0). Sahil Parakh (0), KL Rahul (1), Nitish Rana (1), Sameer Rizvi (0), Tristan Stubbs (5), Axar Patel (0) and David Miller (19) did not understand how to deal with the moving balls of Bhuvi and Hazlewood.
Josh Hazlewood looked very aggressive from the beginning of the match. He made Delhi captain KL Rahul his victim on the very first ball of the second over of the innings. There has been an old war between Rahul and Hazlewood, where before this match, Hazlewood had dismissed him thrice in T20. As soon as Rahul was out, there was silence in the Delhi camp.
