The mother of 26-year-old Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai has passed away. Afghan cricketers Mohammad Nabi and Karim Jannat confirmed this through social media.
Shreyas Iyer paid tribute
At the time of the toss in the match against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer paid tribute to Azmatullah Omarzai’s mother and said, “On behalf of the entire team, I express my deepest condolences to Azmatullah Omarzai and his entire family. I am sure that we are there to support them in every happiness and sorrow.”
Umarzai’s mother passes away
On Monday evening, April 27, Afghan cricketer Mohammad Nabi made a post on social media. Nabi wrote that he is sorry to inform that the mother of Afghanistan national cricket team player Azmatullah Omarzai has passed away. Karim Jannat also said that he stands with Umarzai and his family in this difficult time.
