BCCI received 1583 cr from sale of RCB and RR: Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals changed owners before the Indian Premier League 2026. RCB became the most expensive team of IPL. With the change of owners of both the teams, BCCI also got a big deal. BCCI received about Rs 1583 crore as commission.

BCCI got 5 percent commission due to change of owners of RCB and Rajasthan
New Delhi: The Indian Premier League 2026 is starting from March 28, but before that the teams of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals were sold. The owners of both these teams have changed in the 19th season of IPL. In the trade deal of IPL team, a bid of Rs 16660 crore was made for RCB while Rajasthan team was sold for Rs 15290 crore. In this way, this deal involving both the teams has been completed for Rs 31000 crore. With this sale of IPL teams, the Board of Control for Cricket in India also became rich.
Actually, whenever the owner of a team changes in IPL, BCCI gets commission under the trade deal. In such a situation, BCCI has got 5-5 percent commission from the sale of RCB and Rajasthan Royals. In this way, RCB has given Rs 833 crore to BCCI and Rajasthan has given about Rs 750 crore, due to which about Rs 1583 crore came into the account of the cricket board. Apart from this deal, BCCI also gets a fixed share of revenue from IPL every year.
Who has become the owner of RCB and Rajasthan?
The trade deal between RCB and Rajasthan became historic. RCB has been bought jointly by three firms, which include Aditya Birla Group, American sports investor David Blitzer and American private equity firm Blackstone. Talking about Rajasthan Royals, Kal Somani's group has bought it. Let us tell you that the trade deal between RCB and Rajasthan was to be done before 31st March, but it was completed on 24th March only.
Both teams have been champions 1-time
Rajasthan and RCB teams have been champions once each in IPL. Rajasthan team won the title in the first season of IPL in 2008. Whereas RCB had won the title for the first time last year and is currently the defending champion. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether the fortunes of both the teams also change after the change of owners or not.
