Vaibhav Suryavanshi has created havoc in the cricket world with his explosive batting. When this Rajasthan Royals batsman faces Sunrisers Hyderabad today in the Indian Premier League 2026, he will be targeting a world record. He can match the two Kangaroo batsmen in terms of scoring 1000 T20 runs in the shortest innings.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is aiming for the world record of fastest 1000 T20 runs.
New Delhi. Whenever Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the teenage sensation who brought an earthquake in the cricket world, enters a match, everyone’s focus remains only on what new record he will create. This youngster, who is making waves in the Indian Premier League, has a golden opportunity to register his name in the T20 record book. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has already broken many records and now he also has a chance to become the fastest to score 1,000 T20 runs (in terms of innings).
Currently this record is in the name of former Australian batsmen Brad Hodge and Shaun Marsh. Hodge had completed 1,000 T20 runs in 23 innings. He achieved this feat in July 2006. In June 2008, Marsh also achieved this feat in 23 innings. At that time he was playing for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). So far Suryavanshi has scored 901 runs in 22 innings. His average is 42.90 and strike rate is 215.55. This includes three centuries and three half-centuries. If he scores a century against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 13, he will become the joint fastest player to score 1,000 T20 runs.
If you miss here, there will still be a chance
Even if Suryavanshi is not able to make this record in the next innings, he will still have a chance to equal the record of another Australian player. Matthew Hayden completed 1,000 runs in his 24th T20 innings in 2009. After the match against SRH, Royals will next face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 19 at Eden Gardens.
Opportunity to break Padikkal’s record
The next name among the players from full member countries is Devdutt Padikkal. This RCB opener had completed 1,000 T20 runs in 25 innings. He achieved this feat within a year of his T20 debut. Suryavanshi also has a chance to become the Indian to score 1,000 T20 runs in the shortest innings.
