China Satellite System: If China wants to create such a satellite system in collaboration with some other countries, then it will alert it before the disaster like flood, earthquake occurs. For this, they have joined hands with some countries of Central Asia including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. These countries are together making a satellite system, which will alert about the impending disaster in this area. It has been named Tianwu Constellation and under this, 1,024 satellites can be sent into space. They will collect remote sensing data in satellite space and share it.
Help of AI will also be taken
The scientists leading this project said that the data received from the satellite will be processed and fed to the AI model. For this, a data center has been built in Xinjiang. With the help of data from space, AI models will also be trained and will be able to detect disasters before they occur. There will also be real-time monitoring of mountain ranges and glaciers through this system. It is being told that the glaciers which will be monitored are melting at the rate of 20-40 percent in the last few decades. This will increase the sea level and will have a direct impact on the economy as well as the environment and society. Let us tell you that China is already keeping an eye on natural disasters with the help of a satellite named BeiDo.
Is there also a danger of espionage?
Looking at the objective, this Chinese project looks amazing, but there are some dangers hidden in it. China has not yet provided any information regarding the data, imagery and media collected in this system. For example, what data will it collect and how will the AI model process this data. Also, it has not been told where the focus of this satellite will be. In such a situation, suspicion is being raised that this satellite system will be used for espionage. Earlier, China had launched Yaogan-41 geostationary satellite in 2023, which is capable of monitoring the Pacific and Indian Ocean.
This is why there is doubt on China’s intentions
It cannot be said with certainty that China’s new system will be deployed for espionage, but it cannot be denied that it poses a threat. America has also expressed concern about spying from Chinese satellites.
