Meta AI Glasses: Meta is now going to bring such AI-powered smart glasses which will record your every activity. From what you are seeing to what you are hearing, everything will be recorded in these smart glasses. These glasses will not only keep an eye on your activities but will also be able to remember your conversations and recognize the places where you had once passed. You will also be able to ask them what happened throughout the day, then they will give you all the information like an assistant. All this may sound good, but in terms of privacy it is no less than a nightmare.
How will the new feature work?
According to media reports, Meta is making new smart glasses by taking a feature from its existing model. Internally it is being known as ‘Super Sensing’. In current models this feature has to be activated, but in new glasses there will be no need to enable it. New smart glasses will continuously collect visual and audio information. All this information will go to Meta AI so that it has more context to answer your questions. If this technology comes then smart glasses will become even more powerful and they will be able to answer all your questions like an assistant or guide.
New glasses will capture photos and audio every few seconds
It has been said in the reports that the prototype glasses have been designed in such a way that it captures a photo every few seconds and also keeps listening to the surrounding audio. It is being told that Meta will not store this recorded data permanently. It will only extract its metadata and upload it on its server, which will make it easier for Meta AI to answer the user’s questions.
Concern is being expressed about privacy
Even though Meta does not want to store photos and audio recordings permanently, concerns are still being raised about surveillance and consent. Meta’s record regarding privacy has not been very good in the past. Apart from this, Meta has also been surrounded by questions regarding facial recognition. It has been told in the report that the super sensing feature is being said to be an AI function instead of photo and video recording mode. Therefore, during the use of this feature, the LED indicator of smart glasses will remain off. Due to this, the people in front will remain afraid of being recorded secretly or without their consent.
