Chennai Super Kings gave a debut opportunity to pace bowling all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh in the match against Mumbai Indians on Saturday (02 May). Ramakrishna made his IPL debut through the match. Ramakrishna comes from Nashik in Maharashtra. He was born on 28 August 1997. At present Ghosh’s age is 28 years. He plays as a pace bowling all-rounder.
Chennai bought in the last mega auction
Let us tell you that Chennai had bought Ramakrishna Ghosh for a price of Rs 30 lakh in the mega auction held for the last i.e. 2025 season. Although he did not get a chance last season, the team retained Ramakrishna for the current season.
Vijay Hazare Trophy made headlines
Ramakrishna Ghosh, who played domestic cricket for Maharashtra, made headlines with his explosive performance in the 2025-26 domestic season. In the 50-over tournament, Ramakrishna took 7 wickets for 42 runs in the match against Himachal Pradesh, which was the best performance for the team in an innings in List-A cricket.
In the season, Ghosh did wonders with the ball as well as the bat. He played an inning of 64* runs in 27 balls in the match against Mumbai. With this innings he established himself as a lower order batsman. This performance obviously gave him a chance to debut in the IPL.

It is noteworthy that Ramakrishna Ghosh has played 13 First Class, 11 List-A and 9 T20 matches in his career so far. He took 28 wickets in first class. Took 21 wickets in List-A and 2 wickets in T20. While batting, he has scored 455 runs in First Class, 246 runs in List-A and 45 runs in T20.
