WhatsApp users are in trouble! Testing of Online Indicator and Backup Control feature started, know how it will work

WhatsApp New Feature: WhatsApp may soon bring two new features for its users. According to media reports, the company is testing a feature through which it will be possible to know whether a contact is online or not without opening the chat. Not only this, the company is also preparing a new option for Android users to manage chat backup in a better way. Both these features can make the user’s experience easier as well as help in storage management.

You can see who is online without opening the chat

According to WABetaInfo, a website that provides information related to WhatsApp, the company is working on a new green dot feature. This feature is currently seen in version 2.26.24.5 of WhatsApp Beta for Android.

Under this feature, if a contact is online, a small green dot will appear on his profile photo. With this, users will easily know whether the other person is active on the app or not.

Managing chat backup will be easy

Apart from the Green Dot feature, WhatsApp is also working on a new backup management section. This feature will provide users the facility to view old backups, delete them and make copies of them if needed.

Its biggest advantage will be that users will be able to save space on their device and cloud storage. Many times old backups take up a lot of storage due to which the phone’s memory fills up quickly. The new system can help reduce this problem.

You can also control backup from Android settings

It is being told that Google is also helping in this project. With the Google Play Services v26.23 update, a separate backup management section can be added to Android system settings. Through this, users will be able to view as well as control their WhatsApp backup directly from the phone’s settings.

According to the information, currently both the features are in testing and development stage. However, according to reports, these can be released for all users in the upcoming updates. Now if this happens, then viewing online status and managing backup on WhatsApp will become easier than ever.
