New Delhi. This was the turning point of the match which increased the heartbeats of every spectator sitting in the stadium. The last over of this match between Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals was no less than a rollercoaster ride for any cricket fan. Delhi needed 13 runs to win on the last 6 balls and captain Shubman Gill handed the ball to experienced Prasidh Krishna. The situation was even more difficult for Gujarat as they were penalized for slow over-rate, which required an extra player to remain inside the 30-yard circle. On the very first ball of the over, young batsman Vipraj Nigam lofted Prasidh’s full length ball over mid-off and hit a four and brought the equation to 9 runs in 5 balls. It seemed that Delhi would easily win the match. But on the very next ball, Prasidh changed his length and made Gujarat’s comeback by getting Nigam caught by captain Shubman Gill on a short pitched ball. After this, Kuldeep Yadav came to the crease and cleverly took a single and handed the strike to ‘Killer’ David Miller.
Now Delhi Capitals needed 8 runs in 3 balls. Prasidh put the fourth ball in the slot and Miller, in his familiar style, sent it over long-off and into the parking area. The ball crossed the stadium for six runs. Miller hit a 106 meter long six. Now the match was completely in favor of Delhi. Delhi needed 2 runs in just 2 balls to win. But what happened on the fifth ball changed the course of the match. Prasidh bowled a short of length ball which Miller played towards deep square leg. Kuldeep Yadav had come to half the crease for a single, but Miller sent him back. Miller himself wanted to end the match, but this proved to be a strategic mistake. Now 2 runs were needed on the last ball. After the defeat, Miller could not control his tears. He scored unbeaten 41 runs in 20 balls.

High-voltage drama of the final ball
On the last ball, Prasidh Krishna bowled an accurate slower short ball. David Miller tried to pull but missed completely. The ball went into the gloves of wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and meanwhile Kuldeep Yadav ran for runs. Butler, showing lightning speed, ran out Kuldeep with a straight throw. There was silence on the field when Delhi took a review for the height of the ball (Wide for height). Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel felt that this ball was probably wide. But the third umpire resorted to technology and said that the height of Miller’s head was 1.87 meters while the ball had passed at a height of 1.75 meters. The umpire declared it a valid ball and Gujarat Titans created history by winning this seemingly impossible match by 1 run. This over became a reflection not only of Prasidh Krishna’s accurate bowling but also of Jos Buttler’s fielding and Gujarat’s ability to withstand the pressure of the match.
