Suyyash Sharma’s over became the turning point of the match.
New Delhi. Wankhede Stadium witnessed a match where it rained runs, but in the end the victory went to Royal Challengers Bangalore. While chasing the huge target of 241 runs, RCB defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs and registered their third consecutive win. The biggest turning point of this high-voltage match was the magical over of young leg spinner Suyyash Sharma, which snatched the victory from the hands of Mumbai. 462 runs were scored in the T20 match. Batting first, RCB scored a mountain-like score of 240 runs on the score board. In front of such a big target, Mumbai needed an explosive start. However, Mumbai got its first blow when captain Rohit Sharma was out of the field (retired hurt) due to hamstring problem.
Despite this setback, Ryan Rickleton was not ready to accept defeat. Tilak was out early but Rickleton was scoring runs at a fast pace from one end. He attacked the RCB fast bowlers and hit sixes all around the Wankhede. It seemed that Mumbai would make this impossible goal possible. Suyash Sharma, who came to bowl the eighth over of the innings, changed the picture of the match. Suyyash used his spin and the extra bounce from the pitch very well.

Suyyash dismissed Rickleton and Tilak in the same over.
Suyyash trapped Ryan Rickleton in his spin on the first ball of this over and showed him the way to the pavilion. Rickleton was in excellent form, and as soon as his wicket fell, Mumbai’s momentum slowed down. This batsman scored 37 runs in 22 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. On the fifth ball of the same over, Suyyash also dismissed set batsman Tilak Verma. Who returned to the pavilion after scoring one run. Mumbai’s middle order completely collapsed due to the dismissal of two frozen batsmen in the same over. Suyash gave 47 runs in his quota by taking 2 wickets, but these two hits of his brought RCB back into the match.
Rutherford’s struggle and Mumbai’s defeat
After the collapse of the middle order, Sherfane Rutherford took charge single-handedly. Rutherford did not give up till the end and played a stormy inning of 71 unbeaten runs. His innings kept Mumbai’s hopes alive till the last over, but the target of 241 runs ultimately proved to be too big. Mumbai team could only reach the score of 222 at the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
