Pujara is not tired of praising Mohammed Shami.

New Delhi. Former Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara praised Mohammed Shami, who bowled well for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL match against Delhi Capitals, and said that this is just the beginning of the fast bowler's comeback. Shami, who was out of the Indian team, was bought by Lucknow for Rs 10 crore. Shami, while making his debut for Lucknow, dismissed KL Rahul on his very first ball and thus he became the first bowler in IPL history to take a wicket on the first ball five times.

Pujara told Star Sports about Shami's performance against Delhi Capitals, 'This season of IPL is very important for Mohammed Shami and the way he made a great start to the tournament by performing well against Delhi shows that he is fully prepared. Even though Shami took one wicket for 28 runs, he played an important role in giving his team a good start in the power play. He dismissed KL Rahul on the very first ball and full credit for this goes to Shami.

Lucknow team lost this match but Shami impressed with his performance. Pujara said, 'Shami knew that Rahul likes to play inside out shots, so he bowled the ball outside the off stump. Rahul played an inside out shot but the ball went straight into the hands of the fielder standing at deep point. Even after this he bowled hard.

Pujara said, 'Shami has been playing all formats in domestic cricket for the last one year and his performance has been good. He is maintaining his domestic form in IPL also. This performance against Delhi is just the beginning of Mohammed Shami's comeback. This former Indian batsman also praised Delhi Capitals' decision to field Sameer Rizvi as an impact player.

He said, 'Considering the circumstances, it was a good decision to bring Sameer Rizvi in place of Ashutosh Sharma as an impact substitute. The team management expressed confidence in Rizvi and he took full advantage of it. It was not easy to bat on this wicket. He may emerge as an impact player in the future too, but I would prefer him over Ashutosh Sharma or Karun Nair.

Pujara also said that Kuldeep Yadav is now bowling with more confidence. He said, 'Confidence is very important for a bowler. The way Kuldeep Yadav has bowled in the last two years is because of his confidence. He is bowling without any fear. He now has full confidence in his bowling.
