Thanks to Klaasen-Nitish, Hyderabad scored 156 runs.
Earlier, after Mohammed Shami’s charismatic opening spell, thanks to the aggressive century partnership of Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 156 runs for nine wickets against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). For the Hyderabad team, which was struggling after losing four wickets for 35 runs in the first 10 overs, Klaasen (62 runs in 41 balls) and Reddy (56 runs in 33 balls) followed the strategy of ‘attack is the best defence’. Both the batsmen hit seven sixes during the record partnership of 116 runs in 63 balls for the fifth wicket. As soon as both were out in quick succession, Lucknow regained control of the match and succeeded in restricting the host team below 160 runs.

Shami bowled 18 dot balls
Earlier, Shami bowled 18 dot balls, taking two wickets while giving only nine runs in four overs. Due to which the start of Hyderabad completely faltered. During his spell, top-order batsmen Travis Head (seven), Abhishek Sharma (0) and captain Ishan Kishan (one) returned to the pavilion cheaply. Aggressive batsman Liam Livingstone also became a victim of the excellent wicketkeeping of Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant. The trend of the match seemed to change between the 11th and 15th overs of the innings when Sunrisers scored 79 runs in five overs. Leg spinner Digvesh Rathi, who gave only 10 runs in his first two overs, gave away 36 runs in the next two overs.

Klaasen-Reddy pair hit seven sixes and 8 fours
Indian fast bowlers Avesh Khan and Prince Yadav looked effective in the initial overs, but later deviated from the line and length, of which Klaasen and Reddy took full advantage. While only one six and one four were hit in the first 10 overs, the pair hit seven sixes and eight fours. Thirty-five year old Shami once again gave a strong message to the selectors and bowled a memorable opening spell. He established the dominance of the Super Giants by dismissing Abhishek and Head on consecutive balls in his first two overs.

Shami changed the speed of his balls after sensing the pitch.
Shami changed the speed of his balls after sensing the pitch. While bowling full length against Head, he forced him to run and take runs. He dodged Abhishek with a slow ball outside the off stump. Taking the outer edge of Abhishek’s bat, who was trying to play a big shot, the ball went towards Aiden Markram standing in the direction of third man and the South African player completed a brilliant catch by driving. Shami bowled a slow ball on the very first ball of the next over, which became slower after being hit. Head’s shot went in the air, which was converted into an excellent catch at mid-off.
