India’s new fast bowler Gunur Brar, who took 3 wickets against Afghanistan in the Lucknow ODI match, believes that his easy start in international cricket is due to years of hard work in domestic cricket and the experience of playing in the India A team. This fast bowler from Punjab has impressed everyone with his speed and control in his first ODI series against Afghanistan.
Gunur Brar said, ‘India A team is a big thing for me. If we do well in Ranji Trophy, we get selected for India A, Duleep Trophy or Irani Cup. Brar believes that he has not yet shown his full potential. He said, ‘I wanted to do better from my side in these two matches. I know I can bowl better than today. Hopefully, I will do better in the coming matches. Brar, who recently sat on the bench for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, has credited his growth to the good bowlers around him. He said, ‘There is a very good atmosphere in GT. There is Nehra sir, Rabada, Siraj bhai, the famous Krishna bhai and Ishant Sharma, so we get to learn a lot from them.

He said, ‘The management and bowling coach support me a lot, due to which I get a chance to bowl freely.
Along with speed, swing is also important
If your outswing is good, every batsman has problems, so I try to swing as much as possible. When the swing is short, I pull back the length. He mentioned the conditions of the second ODI, where the swing bowlers did not get any help due to the scorching heat. He said, ‘Due to the heat and the wicket, the ball was not swinging much. So we changed the plan. If swing is not available, then the ball is bowled back. Everything depends on the batsman, wicket and match situation.
There is no favoritism based on friendship with the captain.
In this series, Brar got a chance to play with India captain Shubman Gill, whom he knew from the early days of Punjab cricket. He said, ‘Friendship has its place and playing for the team has its place. Earlier we used to practice together and played one or two matches together. But playing for Team India and then he helped me take my first wicket, that was a great feeling. Brar also praised Gill’s captaincy. He said, ‘A good captain is the one who supports his bowlers, and here all the senior players and captains support the bowlers a lot. This is a very good point.’ Despite focusing on his initial performance, Brar says he remains focused on the bigger goal. He said, ‘I am not satisfied. I am happy that I did well, but want to do more for Team India. I just keep doing my work.
