Graeme Smith said that Vaibhav is the future star of India.

New Delhi. The number of fans of the extremely talented Vaibhav Suryavanshi is continuously increasing and now former South African batsman Graeme Smith has called the 15-year-old Indian player a ‘real superstar’ after his performance in IPL 2026. Suryavanshi hit a six on the very first ball of the world’s best T20 bowler Jasprit Bumrah during Rajasthan Royals’ 27-run win over Mumbai Indians in a rain-interrupted match on Tuesday. This young player hit two sixes in Bumrah’s over during his innings of 39 runs in 14 balls.

Smith wrote in his blog, ‘The IPL has started exactly as I had expected, with flat pitches and high-scoring matches. As always, it will be interesting to see how the old superstars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli perform but I think Rajasthan Royals’ young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be the one to keep an eye on in the first few weeks.

The former South African captain said, ‘He has shown his ability to be aggressive from the very first ball. As a young player, he can become a real superstar during the tournament and I am very excited to see how he performs.

Smith, who was a member of the Rajasthan Royals team that won the first IPL title in 2008, believes that the world’s most popular T20 tournament has revolutionized the global cricket structure. Former Indian captain Anil Kumble had expressed surprise at how Suryavanshi, facing a bowler like Bumrah, hit a six on the very first ball.
