New Delhi. ICC Chairman Jay Shah was honored at the CNBC TV18 India Business Leader Awards. He dedicated this award to all those athletes who bring glory to the country by working hard. From the platform of CNBC, Jay Shah praised Team India by listing its achievements in the recent past. On this special occasion, Jay Shah also congratulated the Indian team for winning the recent T20 World Cup. In particular, the ICC Chairman congratulated captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir for this victory, under whose leadership India created history by winning this tournament for the third time. Jay Shah also congratulated South Africa, England and New Zealand cricket teams for their excellent performance.

Jay Shah said, 'I joined BCCI in 2019, since then Team India has achieved two Under-19 Men's World Cups, two Under-19 Women's World Cups, runner up in the WTC final twice, runner up in the ODI World Cup once, T20 World Cup twice in a row and the Champions Trophy in 2025. Jay Shah further said in praise of the Indian cricket team, 'Just as at one time Australia meant victory, today Team India means victory.' While talking about the viewership in T20 World Cup 2026, the ICC Chairman said that this time all the old records were broken. The tournament saw tough competition between big teams and small teams like Nepal, Netherlands, USA and Zimbabwe. Jai Shah also praised all these teams for their tremendous performance.

Jay Shah asked BCCI and the team to prepare for such strong performance by Team India in future and to win the ICC trophy. Jay Shah said, 'When I was in BCCI, I had prepared till 2028 Olympics, but I went to ICC, other people came in my place in BCCI. Now all of you together have to prepare for 2030, you also have to prepare for 2032 and you know what is coming in 2036, you have to prepare for that too. Let us tell you that India is preparing to stake claim to host the Olympics in 2036.
