How to make tandoori roti in cooker?
First of all, remove the rubber and whistle of the pressure cooker. Heat the empty cooker thoroughly on medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes. Now make a ball of dough and roll it slightly thick. Apply light water on one side of the roti. Stick this water soaked side on the inner wall of the cooker. Keep in mind that only the side which is covered with water should stick to the cooker. Cover the cooker and let the roti cook for 1 to 2 minutes. When the roti starts rising and is cooked from the top, then carefully turn the cooker upside down and place the roti directly towards the flame. This will give tandoor like light golden and black spots on the roti.
After the roti is cooked, take it out with the help of tongs and apply butter or ghee on it. Similarly, prepare the remaining rotis also.
Keep these things in mind:
- Do not put rubber and whistle in the cooker at all.
- It is important to heat the cooker well first, only then the roti will stick well.
- Apply water evenly on the roti, so that it sticks easily to the wall of the cooker.
- Use tongs while taking out the roti, so that your hands do not get burnt.
- Serve tandoori roti with hot dal, paneer, chickpeas or any vegetable.
If you do not have a tandoor in your house, then there is no need to worry. With just the help of a pressure cooker, you can easily make and taste soft, tasty and restaurant-like tandoori roti at home. Apart from being easy, this method will also save your time and money.
