New Delhi: After tight bowling and strong batting by captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Ranghuvanshi, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets. This 45th match of IPL 2026 between KKR and Sunrisers was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This is KKR’s third win in 9 matches this season and now it has reached 8th position in the points table. In the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad team, bowling first, scored 165 runs in 19 overs. In response, KKR achieved the target with 10 balls remaining. In this way, the Sunrisers team went off track after winning 5 consecutive matches.

While chasing the target, captain Rahane played a strong inning of 45 runs in 36 balls while batting for KKR. In this innings, Rahane also hit 4 fours and 1 six. Apart from this, Angkrish Raghuvanshi also played an inning of 59 runs in 47 balls. Raghuvanshi also hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in this innings, while Rinku Singh played an inning of 22 runs in 11 balls. In the end Cameron Green scored 3 runs. With this strong game in batting and bowling, KKR has kept its hopes of reaching the playoffs alive.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling was ordinary

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling was very ordinary in the match against KKR. Captain Pat Cummins, Shivang Kumar and Shakib Hussain got only 1-1 success for the team. Although the bowlers tried their best to defend the score, the team lagged behind in the match due to lack of wickets. Whereas for KKR, Rahane and Raghuvanshi batted intelligently and patiently to take the team towards victory.

Sunrisers batsmen disappointed

Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen disappointed a lot in the match. Apart from Travis Head and Ishan Kishan, no one could spend time at the crease. Travis Head played an inning of 61 runs in 28 balls for the team. Apart from this, Ishan Kishan contributed 42 runs in 29 balls. Apart from these two, the entire batting order of the team was a flop, due to which it was limited to a score of 165 runs in 19 overs. Talking about bowling, Varun Chakraborty took maximum 3 wickets from KKR’s side. Apart from this, Sunil Narine and Karthik Tyagi also took 2-2 wickets, while Vaibhav Arora, Cameron Green and Anukul Roy took 1-1 wicket.
