Spine Surgery Technique: In today’s time, the medical field is progressing rapidly and a big success has come to light in this regard. A special surgery technique developed at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi has created new hope for those patients who were suffering from severe spinal deformity. Technology developed after seven years of hard work
This new surgery technique has been developed over the last seven years and has been prepared by a team of doctors. This technique is actually a modified form of “Posterior Vertebral Column Resection (PVCR)”. PVCR is a complex operation, which is used in the treatment of those patients whose spine becomes too crooked or rigid and this has a negative impact on their life. This new technique has been developed by senior orthopedic specialist Dr Bhavuk Garg. In this new method, some parts of the spine are protected till the end during the operation, which maintains the stability of the body during the surgery. Due to this, the risk of complications is much less than before and the chances of recovery of the patient increase. Doctors of All India Institute of Medical Sciences say that in the last seven years, this procedure has given new hope to those patients who earlier had to face a lot of risk in surgery and who had limited treatment options.

Patients suffering from severe spinal deformity have to face many problems like curvature of the spine, constant pain, difficulty in breathing and inability to stand straight. A senior orthopedic specialist said, “Earlier people were afraid of these surgeries because they could have major neurological or life-threatening risks. But now, due to better technology and experience, the results have become quite good.”

This technology developed by AIIMS is now getting recognition at the international level also. Spine surgeons from foreign countries are also showing interest in this method and are moving towards adopting it. Experts believe that this technology is proving to be a major achievement in the treatment of complex spine diseases. With this, India’s medical capability has gained new recognition at the global level and the country is building a strong position in the field of advanced spine surgery.
