To solve this problem, a team of scientists has prepared a special type of composite electrode. In this, vanadium oxide has been combined with a very thin and well-conducting material called MXene. MXene acts as a strong support system that holds the vanadium oxide firmly in place.
Due to this new technology, the problem of material dissolving inside the battery has reduced to a great extent. According to the report, this solubility can be reduced by about 80 percent, improving both the life and stability of the battery.
Big improvement in performance also
With this new design the battery was able to work better for a longer period of time. Testing showed that the battery retained a good portion of its capacity even after several charging cycles. This clearly indicates that this technology can prove useful for long-lasting batteries.
