Rishabh Pant said after the match, 'We could not make a big partnership in batting. The plan was that (Nicholas) Puran would come at number five and take charge in the middle overs. We needed a player who could add some runs as an 'impact player' because we did not have enough runs on a good pitch. We had set a special role for Ayush Badoni so that he could leave a mark when our early wickets fell early. The new ball was helping a lot but you cannot put pressure on the opposition team by scoring 140 runs (141 runs). Even 20 extra runs cost us dearly.

When Pant, who opened the innings in this match, was asked whether he would play the role of an opening batsman in the upcoming matches also, he did not give a clear answer. He said, 'It was a 50-50 percent decision but you will definitely see me playing in the top order.' Pant was unfortunately run out and on this he said, 'The best way to recover from my getting out is to ignore it because I cannot control it.'

Delhi needed 29 runs to win in the last five overs. Rizvi took the team closer to the target with fours and sixes on consecutive balls of Mohsin. And then gave victory to Delhi with a six off Samad. With this victory, Delhi Capitals has reached third place in the points table of 10 teams with two points. Rajasthan Royals is at first place with 2 points.
