New Delhi. Rishabh Pant's anger erupted after the defeat against Delhi Capitals. He admitted that he could not complete the work that the team had given to Nicholas Puran and Ayush Badoni. Lucknow Super Giants captain Pant admitted after the six-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals in the IPL that his batsmen did not score enough runs. Chasing the target of 142 runs of Super Giants, Delhi registered victory with the help of impact player Sameer Rizvi's unbeaten 70 runs with four sixes and five fours in 47 balls and Tristan Stubbs' unbeaten 39 runs. Rizvi and Stubbs made an unbroken partnership of 110 runs for the fifth wicket. Despite losing four wickets for 26 runs, both of them registered victory by scoring 145 runs for four wickets in 17.1 overs. Earlier, the Super Giants team was all out for 141 runs in 18.4 overs in front of the sharp bowling of fast bowlers Lungi Ngidi (27/3) and T Natarajan (29/3). Kuldeep Yadav (31/2) also took two wickets.
Rishabh Pant said after the match, 'We could not make a big partnership in batting. The plan was that (Nicholas) Puran would come at number five and take charge in the middle overs. We needed a player who could add some runs as an 'impact player' because we did not have enough runs on a good pitch. We had set a special role for Ayush Badoni so that he could leave a mark when our early wickets fell early. The new ball was helping a lot but you cannot put pressure on the opposition team by scoring 140 runs (141 runs). Even 20 extra runs cost us dearly.
