Reliance AGM Tech Announcement: In the 49th Annual General Meeting of Reliance, the company made many big announcements. These also include some big announcements related to tech. Like every event, there was a special focus on AI in this too. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that India should not remain a mere consumer of AI made outside. India should become an AI manufacturer and global leader. If we look at the big announcements of this event, Reliance’s media and entertainment division JioStar has announced a new GenAI studio. Apart from this, announcement has also been made to work on AI powered call agents, satellite internet and AI in Indian language for the people of India. India’s AI backbone is being built in Jamnagar- Jio Chairman Akash Ambani said that Reliance Intelligence is building India’s sovereign AI backbone in Jamnagar. This infrastructure will operate on Reliance’s own solar energy and its first 120 MW capacity is planned to be commissioned by the end of this year. When fully operational, this capacity can expand to more than two million H100-equivalent GPUs.
AI Studio for content production- In the Reliance AGM, the company has revealed JioStar GenAI Media Studio (JAMS). This is an AI powered platform, which will be able to do the entire work in content production from ideation to images, videos and final production. Announcing this, Jio Chairman Akash Ambani said that it has been brought to nurture the new generation content technologists, who want to produce premium content by combining storytelling with AI.
New platform for AI agent- Reliance has also introduced the new Jio Teleframe. This is a voice-first agentic AI system, which will act as a hub to control the agents used in the home for entertainment, shopping and connected home devices. It can be accessed in every Indian language.
AI powered call agent- Akash Ambani has also announced AI powered call agent. This is a native voice assistant, which will be integrated into the Jio network. There will be no need for any app or separate phone number for this and it will also work in all Indian languages. After getting the user’s permission, it will be able to join the call and transcribe it in real time. It will be able to recognize 10 speakers in a conference call and can also share meeting notes with other people participating in the call. Talking about other features, it will be able to do things like cab booking, food ordering, table reservation and meeting scheduling while attending calls. This feature can be rolled out by the end of this year.
Effort to make AI accessible- Akash Ambani also said that Jio is preparing AI in Indian languages so that more and more people can use it. He said that Reliance is making AI for India, which will one day serve the entire world. Besides, work is also going on to make AI affordable by the end of this decade.
AI for everyone, from students to farmers Reliance Intelligence is preparing to provide reliable, affordable and multilingual AI services in 22 Indian languages, which will include services like GeoBharatIQ, AI Business, GeoHealthIQ, GeoLearnIQ and GeoKrishiIQ. These are being brought to make AI useful for farmers, students, shopkeepers, families and small businessmen.
There is also an eye on satellite internet
Jio is also eyeing satellite internet and the company is seeing it as the next stage of growth. Mukesh Ambani said in his address that Jio is exploring the possibilities of satellite connectivity. Jio has connected India on the ground. Now preparations are going on how India can be connected to the sky.
Multi-frame viewing feature will come on JioHotstar
The feature of multi-frame viewing on JioHotstar has also been announced in the AGM. With its help, users will be able to watch four different shows or streams simultaneously. This means that while enjoying the cricket match, users will also be able to listen to songs and get updates on news channels. While watching different frames simultaneously, you will be able to select the audio of any frame as per your wish. If we talk about monthly active users of JioHostar, their number has crossed 45 crores, while short-video platform Tadka has also garnered more than 10 crore viewers within two months.
