New Delhi. The excitement of the 5-match T20 series being played between India and England has reached its peak. In the second T20 match, England defeated the Indian team by 4 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series. After this defeat, now a big challenge has arisen before the Indian team to make a comeback in the series. The third T20 match of the series is to be played on Tuesday, July 7 at the Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham. Before this do-or-die match, former Indian fast bowler Irfan Pathan has exposed the weaknesses of the Indian team and has advocated for major changes in the playing eleven. Irfan has openly expressed his opinion on the role of the team’s bowling combination on his YouTube channel.
Former fast bowler Irfan Pathan believes that the Indian team is losing a bit of balance with the current bowling line-up, due to which the team is having to suffer the consequences. In the second T20, India took the field with only two specialist fast bowlers, which did not prove to be correct in terms of strategy. Talking about this in detail, Pathan said that when there are only two fast bowlers in the team and that too when Shivam Dubey is not made to bowl, then the captain’s options become very limited.

In such a situation, the captain has to push the spinners in the last overs i.e. death overs and also has to make them bowl more in the powerplay. Irfan believes that if there is even a little seam or movement on the pitch, then as a bowling unit you miss out on the advantage that an extra fast bowler can easily give you.
Analyzing the second match, the former all-rounder further said that Arshdeep Singh had done an excellent job by taking two wickets in the beginning and had put India in a good position. But on the other hand, Harshit Rana did not have a good day, especially with the new ball he could not make an impact. When one of your main fast bowlers is not in form, the captain starts missing an additional fast bowler badly.
For this reason, Irfan has suggested that considering the circumstances in Nottingham, the Indian team should take a big decision. According to him, Prince Yadav should be given a chance in the playing eleven in the next match in place of spinner Ravi Bishnoi so that the fast bowling can be further strengthened. However, he also clarified that if the team management does not bring a fast bowler and wants to back Ravi Bishnoi, then work will have to be done on Bishnoi’s runup immediately, because in the last match, due to his wrong runup, he had bowled no-balls.
India vs England 3rd T20 match on 7th July
In the match to be held on July 7, the pitch of Nottingham is generally considered favorable for batsmen, but the wind and initial humidity there also helps the fast bowlers a lot. After these suggestions of Irfan Pathan, there will definitely be a churning going on in the Indian camp. If India has to level the series, it will have to field a balanced team at Trent Bridge. This advice of Irfan Pathan looks very practical and strong on paper, now it remains to be seen whether the captain strengthens the pace attack by giving a chance to Prince Yadav on the field on Tuesday and whether the doors of the middle order open for Rajat Patidar in the future.
India’s probable eleven for the third T20
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper), Shreyas Iyer (captain), Tilak Verma, Shivam Dubey, Harshit Rana, Axar Patel, Prince Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakraborty.
