Praful Hinge world record: Praful Hinge, who created a stir with his lethal bowling in his debut IPL match against Rajasthan Royals, also made a world record. This 24 year old pacer has become the first bowler in IPL history to take three wickets in the first over of the innings. Before this, no bowler in the world had done this feat.

New Delhi. 24 year old young pacer Prafulla Hinge created a stir while making his IPL debut against Rajasthan Royals. Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, this star took three wickets in the very first over of the innings. With this over he also made a world record. Prafulla did something which no bowler in the world had been able to do in this league before. Actually, Prafulla has become the first bowler to take three wickets in the first over of an IPL innings.
This has happened 32 times in IPL history, when a bowler has taken two wickets in the first over of the innings, but Prafulla’s charisma of three wickets was seen for the first time. Bhuvneshwar Kumar last took two wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2024. He took these two wickets in the first over against Rajasthan Royals. His two victims were Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler.

HRH scored 216 runs losing 6 wickets in the stipulated overs. After this, captain Ishan Kishan handed the first over of the Rajasthan Royals innings to Prafulla Hinge. Yashasvi Jaiswal took a single on the first ball of this over. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was in front of him on the next ball, but Hinge gave the team its first success by getting this young batsman caught out by Salil Arora. After this Dhruv Jurel came on the field. The third ball of the over was a dot and on the very next ball, Hinge bowled Jurel. Luan-Dre Pretorius came to the crease. The fifth ball was a dot, but on the last ball of the over, Hinge got Pretorius caught out by Nitish Reddy. The situation was such that RR had lost 3 wickets by the end of the first over, while the team had only one run in its account. His over decided the direction of the match and led the team to victory.
Who is Prafulla Hinge?
Prafull Prakash Hinge, born on 18 January 2002 in Nagpur, has made his mark playing domestic cricket for Vidarbha. The special thing is that before his IPL debut, Prafulla Hinge had played only one T20 match. On 8 December 2025, he took 1 wicket for 23 runs in 4 overs for Vidarbha against Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Vidarbha won this match by 19 runs. Prafulla Hinge made his first class debut in October 2024. So far, he has taken 27 wickets in 19 innings of 10 matches at an average of 26.66. During this period, 60/4 was his best performance. Hinge also played an important role in Vidarbha winning the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy title. In his very first first class season, Hinge took a total of 11 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 27.09.
Hinge made his ‘List-A’ debut in January 2025, taking 5 wickets in 6 matches. He was part of the Vidarbha team that won the 2025/26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Prafulla Hinge also participated in the first season of ‘Vidarbha Pro T20 League’. In 6 matches of this league, he took a total of eight wickets at an economy rate of 8.96, after which IPL scouts noticed him. Hinge is training with MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai from 2022. He went to Brisbane for a 15-day camp in the year 2024.
