New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opening batsman Phil Salt has returned to England to undergo a scan of the finger injury he suffered last month. Due to this injury, Salt could not play in the last three matches of RCB, in his place his compatriot Jacob Bethel opened the innings with Virat Kohli. Phil Salt has won the championship with KKR in 2024 and RCB in 2025.

When and how did the injury occur?
The 29-year-old player was injured while diving to save a boundary at deep backward square leg during the match against Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 18. He injured the finger on his left hand. According to ESPNcricinfo:

Salt, who is contracted to the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board), has returned home at the request of the England team management and his finger has been scanned.

Salt has 202 runs in six innings.
According to the report, both RCB and Salt are hopeful that he will be fit soon and he can return to India later this month. In the current IPL, Salt had scored 202 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 168.33.

RCB at second place on points table
